Day 11: July 9
Took my pictures of my flaming tongue in the morning. I added an eleventh flag becasue why not. I accidentally took all of the pictures on the actual camera rather than the memory card so I am currently working on finding the cord to connect it to the computer directly.
I got an email back from the librarian though! The program I am going to use is called 'Analyzing Digital Images Software'. I downloaded it today and look forward to learning how to use it tomorrow.
After I was done with my work today, I went on a little adventure with Sonja (unfortunately I did not bring a camera). For her project she is flipping over sea stars and seeing how long it takes them to flip over and is going to compare their times based on depth and maybe other factors, I am not sure. There is a beach across a small bay that we have been interested in exploring. We took the blow up kayaks over there, beached them and got to snorkeling. We looked around the reef until we really kept our eyes out for a sea star. There were some different types/colors of coral over there and things seemed a bit more vibrant and abundant. Maybe because it is a bit further away from people/impervious surfaces/boats(?) or maybe just becasue it is a different reef. Then we flipped over the sea star and I stared at it for 14 some minutes while it congealed it self onto its right side. It was truly interesting. I honestly did not know how to picture it turning it self over. I'll try and get pictures next time.
We had a lecture on research ethics tonight. It was interesting, but nothing too new really.
