Day 5: July 3

| the closest thing to a mermaid I'll ever be |
Today we snorkeled both in the morning and afternoon, looking for three species of fish, crustaceans, mollusks and plants. I had the GoPro in the morning, but Codee's camera broke, so we shared it in the afternoon. It worked out well and we all saw some awesome species!

| Sesarma crab on the dock support |
| Fish surrounding a lobster head |
| Sea fans |
| Olivia with a Moon jelly |
| Moon jellyfish |
| Razorfish |
| Yellow spotted sting ray (!!) |
| friends at work |
| Cushion sea star |
Lavender crust algae
| Rock-boring sea urchin |
I have realized that once I start noticing species I see a lot of them. For example, I saw a lobster the other day and I spotted about four different one's today. The first few days I was not spotting the urchins but I saw so many today and yesterday. They just pop out at me now. But when I go to look for something new, mollusks for example, it takes a lot of time and patience to find the specific type of creature. So maybe tomorrow I'll see all of the mollusks. As I continue to see more things, I will get better at spotting them.
Fresh guacamole on the dock overlooking the sunset was a savory end to a sweet day.
